Kersey is a small, extraordinarily picturesque village set in a valley in undulating Suffolk countryside. Kersey remains quiet and apparently unmodernised with many ancient timber-framed houses and cottages.
The church of St Mary stands as a sort of sentinel at the top of a flight of stone steps at the Southern end of the village. The winding street running north south and crossing the splash, acts as a magnet to people from all walks of life and every corner of the globe.
This place has, over the years, been described in such phrases as "a little piece of Heaven" and a "priceless jewel cradled in a giants hand".
